2 ATT: Often times Revolution comes when the people have had enough with the government and took a stand for what they believed in. Many have lost their lives fighting for these changes. What would cause you to revolt? Would you be willing to lose your life for these changes? Tonight’s Homework: Read Chapter 2 Section 5 (pages 67 – 69) with Cornell Notes

10 Colonists organize & declared it a violation of rights Parliament repealed Stamp act 1766 Parliament angered by the challenge of their authority Replaced it w/ Declaratory Act Stripped away most of the colonies independence

11 Duties (taxes) on glass, lead, paints, paper, tea Officials enforced w/ writs of assistance (search for smuggling) Ship Liberty is seized for search – angers colonists further

12 Directions: You will be given 5 minutes to define and explain your assigned act or key term You can use your notebook or textbook You will become the expert of that act of key term You then will be put into a group in which you will each have a chance to teach your group your act or key term You will be responsible for your group knowing that act or key term
