3 Compare: I used to play with a rock band. – regularly, I do not play with them any more I was playing with a rock band – once, in the past when something else happened I played with a rock band. – the other day, it was a one—time occasion I have been playing with a rock band. – I started to play with them and never finished I have played with a rock band. – and that’s why I become famous
