12 2008 – 2009 Faculty Enhancement Opportunity Award Richard Phillips - Summer/Fall 2009 Travel to Spain to visit archives, to survey their holdings, to make contacts, and to carry out research on Cuba. Includes a follow-up visit of counterpart from Seville’s AGI (Archivo General de India) to UF to further collaboration.

13 2008 – 2009 Awards and Honors The Baldwin Library of Historical Children's Literature was recognized with University Historical Marker #3 on October 2, 2008.

14 2008 – 2009 Awards and Honors Iona R. Malanchuk received the national “I Love My Librarian Award” sponsored by the Carnegie Corporation/New York Times/American Library Association in December 2008.

15 2008 – 2009 Awards and Honors Cathy Martyniak won an ALCTS Presidential citation in June of 2008 for her national work on a definition of digital preservation

16 2008 – 2009 Awards and Honors Jim Liversidge was included as one of Gainesville’s 20 Most Interesting People in the January 2009 issue of INsite Magazine (http://www.insitegainesville.com/). See page 45 for the article, “Jim Liversidge: Preserver of Pop Culture’s Past.”

24 The Library Development team also would like to express our appreciation to the library technical services team for their efforts in working with the development team to create and implement virtual bookplates to recognize gifts and endowments. 25 Launched a new service with the Alumni Association to provide free access to two online databases for members of the association and qualified donors. 43 Projects, Events, and Other Fun Things AFA Dewey reclassification and collection shifting. Federal Documents in storage – Government Documents and Cataloging & Metadata. University Historian Carl Van Ness successfully identified the first African-American graduates from each UF college. Contract signed with Internet Archive in May. PR & Marketing funds supported several events: TechExpo, ArtBash, GIS Day, faculty author reception, Digital Literacy Contest, Elegance of Science art contest reception.
