2. You will need! Nerds Smarties Water 150ml: 50 ml for each Vinegar 150ml: 50 ml for each Lemon Juice 150ml: 50ml for each Bunsen burner 3-4 beakers 200ml Timer stopwatch Tripod Heatproof Mat

3. Aim! The aim of this prac is to see how long it takes to melt/dissolve Nerds and Smarties in different liquids and see how long it takes for each.

4. Hypothesis! The different liquids would help change the times also thee smarties will melt faster than the nerds because the smarties haws chocolate and chocolate melts faster.

5. Risk Assessment! Bunsen Burner: can burn you be-careful. Beaker: can smash-be careful. Tripod: will be hot- wait 5-10 minutes to touch Gauze Mat: hot- be careful.

6. Method! 1.Place the liquids (one liquid per beaker) in all of the beakers (50ml each) us two at a time (when finished wash and reuse) and leave to boil over Bunsen burner 2.Once they have started to boil place the nerds and smarties in each of the liquids (one each) and start the timer when put in. 3. Leave the nerds (3 nerds per beaker) and smartie (1 smartie per beaker) in and see how long it takes to melt/dissolve. 4. Use table over page!
