2 Quick overview: our location Sevilla More than two thousand years old, the city was known from early Roman times as Hispalis.Roman times Conquered by the vandals and the visigoths in the 5th and 6th centuries- The city was taken by the Moors in 712 and became an important centre in Muslim Andalusia. 3 Quick overview: a 504 years old university In 1256 King Alfonso X granted Seville the privilege of raising a school to foster the studies of latin and arabic languages. In 1502, king Ferdinand and queen Isabella, best known as the Catholic, provided the city hall with a Real Cédula so Seville could establish a Estudio General with «Seats for theology, laws,medicine and other liberal arts.” But the University as such would become a reality 3 years later when Archdeacon Maese Rodrigo Fernández de Santaella who had founded the School of Blessed Mary of Jesus (Colegio de Santa María de Jesús) obtained In 1505 a papal bull from Pope Julius IISantaellaBlessed MaryJesus1505papal bull Pope Julius II

8 The International Office: a model  A centralized model. Same rules and regulations for all actors and members of the University.  A centralized budget.  All programs must be approved by the Vicerrector/International Relations Office.  All agreements and MoUs must be submitted to the central department of legal affaids  All agreements and MoUs must be signed by the Rector.  ….nevertheless important role of the faculties.
