3  Summative assessments are cumulative evaluations  Used to measure student growth after instruction  Given at end of course to determine whether long-term learning goals have been met  When we hear assessment, we think of:  Unit/Chapter Tests  State Testing  WKCE  Act/SAT Summative

4  What is formative assessment?  Formal and Informal assessment  Used during learning process  Gives the teacher instant feed back  Suggested you have at least one in every lesson taught  Helps you know content to touch on in future lessons Formative
