3. History of the Program Hanwood started the program in Canada in 2003 Hanwood partners with EduChosun, a subsidiary of the Chosun newspaper, the largest in Korea Twelve Manitoba School Divisions have hosted 650 students HANWOOD INC.

Program Details Hanwood places students in Canadian schools with same age and gender classmates Students live with Canadian students’ families Eligible Koreans are 10-14 years, in Grades 4-8 Students must have taken extra English classes and are recommended by their Korean English teachers HANWOOD INC.

Program Sessions Students stay for short-term (approximately 8 -16 weeks) or full-year and participate in one of the following sessions: Fall (starts bebinning of September) Winter (starts beginning of January) The Winter session is the most popular, as this is the Korean two-month school break.
