1  Categorical Data: Data relating to groups of the population that do not have to do with measurement  Examples: Hair color, Gender, Favorite Food  Can be numbers that have no value such as zip codes, social security numbers, etc  Quantitative Data: Data relating to measurement.  Always has units  Examples: miles, yrs, hours, etc

2  Don’t forget to label the x axis and the y axis  Make sure your y axis goes up by consistent scale # of ______ depends upon who the data is about Different categories 25 20 15 10 5 Don’t forget a title

7  For problems that you missed you must make corrections and describe what you misunderstood  If you got 100% then it is your task to help people around you fix their misconceptions  If you didn’t take the quiz, work on getting the assignment done

8  Important things to remember!!!!  Pie charts always must add up to 100%. If they are over or under they are wrong  You must have a key or label each piece of the pie with both the percent and which category the section represents  The sections must be the right size. Example 5% should not be the largest section on your pie chart if you have sections that equal higher percentages!

19  Starting on Thursday we will be working on a two person project so today  Pick your partner  Come up with two categorical questions you could ask other students in a survey Make sure 1 question only has two choices!!! The other question should have at least 3 choices  Fold a piece of paper in half hot dog style  Write one question on the left with the two choices. Make sure you write pick 1  Write the other question on the left, make sure you write pick 1
