8 California Mathematics Standards Test*  Students in grades 8 through 11 who:  Completed algebra 1 during the 2003 summer session or will complete algebra 1 by the end of the 2003-04 school year  Previously took the Algebra 1 CST and are repeating the course during the 2003-2004 school year WILL take the Algebra 1 CST  All students in 8/9 who are:  Not yet taking Algebra 1  In the first year of a two-year algebra 1 course  Taking an 8 th grade or general math class  Taking no math WILL take the General Math CST
