Sample FL programme (1) Disengaged 16 year old FE learner Purpose of programme: to develop self-confidence and improve motivation, to gain qualifications and get some work experience in order to increase learner’s chances of gaining employment. QCF Qualifications: NOCN Level 1 Certificate in Progression (21 credits, 50 SCAAT points, 189 GLH) EDI Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths, English and ICT (15 credits, 37.5 SCAAT points, 90 – 135 GLH) Destination: apprenticeship in retail

8. Sample FL programme (2) 17 year old learner with LDD at an independent specialist college Purpose of programme: to develop the skills needed to progress to supported employment, including personal and social skills and some basic literacy. QCF Qualifications: Edexcel Entry level 1 award in Personal Progress (8 credits, SCAAT points to be assigned, 80 -90 GLH) Edexcel Entry level 1 award in Communication Skills (6 credits, SCAAT points to be assigned, 60 GLH) Destination: supported employment
