3.  SAFETY FIRST (Gloves, Mask, & be sure you know what you’re doing)  Five Step Process 1.) Remove cap 2.) Check and remove obstructions 3.) Prepare chemical agent  Identify appropriate chemical agent  (Def-Tec 509, 517, 518, 519, 555)  Remove fuze assembly  Always hold upright 4.) Attach the chemical agent to the cap 5.) Reassemble Gas Ram

4.  Clean after every use  Wear mask and gloves  Three Maintenance Tasks 1.) Wash Gas Ram  Pressure Washer with hot soapy water (220 – 240 degrees)  Sandblast  Metal brush, bore brush, and hot soapy water (i.e. Tide, Joy) 2.) Apply anti-seize on threads 3.) Dry completely and store

5.  Deliver with at least a 3 man team (2 Officers to deploy the ram and 1 as cover…Unless you have one of these)these  Attempt to avoid deploying in kitchen (gas lines)  Attempt to get the ram high enough to avoid furniture  Pull the pin prior to inserting the ram to ensure agent deploys  The other school of thought is to pull pin after to ensure probe is inserted  Just prior to deploying the ram, use distraction techniques on the opposite side of the location (i.e. LSD)
