Railroads Period: 2. History October 7, 2002 I was looking for more info on the railroad from the latter half of the 1800’s in western America. 270/300—A- Also The first few slides are almost exactly like Julia’s. Who did the work. 265/300—B+

In the early years people would use carriages to transport goods and people that were pulled by horses along tracks. How they Transported goods!

The Stourbridge Lion *The Stourbridge Lion was the first steam locomotive to run on a commercial line in the United States.

Best Friend Engine When they went to test the best friend engine it did not stay on the tracks.

The Rusty Train!!! This train is still in relatively good condition, although heavy rusting of the saddle tanks and cylinders would take a bit of work to repair.

As The trains got newer!!! They learned how to make the trains more dependable and safer. The newer models were better and better in design and in the rides were a lot safe and people more confident to ride them.

The Trusty Tracks They ride on! They tracks that made the rides smooth and safe. The trusty tracks that they build and made very safe for anyone to ride.

How they made it safer for people! They put up stop lights and signs and stop poles. They made so when a train was coming it blink and make a little ringing sound.
