15 Midterm Exam The class will be divided into 2 sections  Group A will have their midterm in class 1 during regular class time.  Group B will have their midterm in class 2 during regular class time. The students in Group A and Group B will be randomly divided into groups of 4~5.  Each group will have a specific exam time.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to the exam (we will begin as soon as the previous group has finished!!)  Please wait quietly in the hall. Minus points will be given for noise!

16 Midterm Exam (20%) Part A: Individual answer (50%)  You will be given one random question  Speak for 30 seconds (minimum)  Give your opinion, reasons why Part B: Pair conversation (50%)  Your partner will be randomly chosen at the exam  Have a conversation about one topic which is related to units 1, 2, 4, 5.  Continue your conversation for as long as possible using the grammar and vocabulary from the unit

18 Midterm Exam - Tips Do NOT memorize exam answers. It is very easy for me to notice. Minus points will be given!!  listen carefully to your partner and work together to have a conversation  use conversation strategies: follow-up questions and Q  SA + EI Use the grammar and vocabulary from the appropriate unit to answer the exam question  ex. if the exam topic is about movies, use the grammar and vocabulary from unit 1

19 Midterm Exam If you cannot come to the exam, you must contact me BEFORE the exam by email. You must supply an official document of absence. If you miss the exam without contacting the instructor, you will receive a grade of 0. There will be no re-writes.
