3 The OUTCOMES of the Module The students should be able: 1To comprehend up-to-date theories, concepts and best practices in diversity education and to use them in their professional activities 2To construct independently different applicable models of diversity education 3To interact and communicate effectively in diversified educational environment, incl. with parents and social partners 4To analyze the implementation of diversity education and to assess its results 5To perceive diversity as smth typical and standard for education and as a resource for a learner's and organization development

Theoretical and methodological foundations of diversity education The phenomenon of diversity. Diversity as a standard for education. Diversity as a resource for development. Diversity, heterogeneity, access to education. Modern theories and concepts of diversity education. 6 3. Anthropological foundations of diversity education Psychological and pedagogical characteristics of a child (learner) as an actor of educational process. Children with limited abilities. Children with diverse ethnic backgrounds. Gifted children. Children at social risk. Gender and inter- generational issues in education. 6 4. Characteristics of diversity education environment Legal foundations of diversity education. Principles and conditions for diversity education environment.
