The strength of the Company is based on four key principles: –independent operation of service stations, built on local entrepreneurship –guarantee of supply at competitive prices –proximity of client base out of the large urban centers –personalized customer service.

Business Opportunities OLCO’s network is comprised of 319 service stations: 137 in Ontario and 182 in Québec. The majority, 60%, is operated by independent dealers under the OLCO banner; the others are corporate establishments. OLCO is presently looking to recruit high performance business people with excellent leadership qualities to operate these corporate establishments. The bonus: an interesting career challenge and the opportunity to manage one's own business.

Types of Businesses OLCO Petroleum Group Inc. operates two types of businesses: - Service stations - convenience stores. - Service stations - convenience stores. Service stations Strategically located, OLCO service stations offer distinctive and personalized combinations of products and services.

Service stations Service stations: –full service –self-service Types of fuel: –gas –ethanol –diesel –propane

Service stations Additional services: –mini convenience store or full convenience store –carwash: automatic, no contact or by hand –service bay for mechanical repairs –propane bottle filling –fast food Depending on the type of establishment, it is possible to combine any number of these services.

Convenience stores Combo is the new convenience store banner that has recently joined the OLCO service station network. Eleven convenience stores are already in operation and this number will reach 31 by the end of 2001. The Combo convenience stores integrated with our service stations offer customers an impressive variety of services and brand-name products at competitive prices.

Convenience stores lottery (from terminal) bread and dairy products snack foods beer and wine tobacco products newspapers and magazines automotive and petroleum products. Some Combo convenience stores offer additional products and services suited to today's busy lifestyle: coffee counter (regular, cappuccino, hot chocolate) fresh bread and pastries baked on the premises fast food (pizza); soup and sandwich counter.

Convenience stores With OLCO’s marketing strategy based on regular promotions, OLCO stands out from their competitors. They also offer Combos, competitively priced combinations of complementary products. Different Combos are introduced monthly, always supported by relevant advertising material. In addition, thanks to the agreements negotiated with national suppliers, OLCO benefits from excellent purchasing power and personalized service, in line with their vision and their business approach. In order to generate increased sales, Combo dealers can rely on efficient marketing support in terms of both promotions and merchandising.

Financial Implications Candidates must be able to invest in their business. Initial investment includes: - bank guarantee (or personal asset guarantees) - inventory - working capital. - working capital. The required amount varies depending on the type of business and on the additional services offered at the service station. Potential revenue is proportional to effort. In other words, the dealer determines his revenue himself. There is no maximum revenue!

Promotions OLCO Petroleum Group Inc. periodically offers new promotions to its customers. These promotions are available with fuel purchases and consist of popular products offered alone or as part of a "combo", at a minimal price. Advertising material in the form of posters and pump toppers is provided to the dealer with each new promotion. It is devised to attract new customers while building current customer loyalty. Dealers can also create their own local promotions.

Support In order to help its dealers manage their service station in the best possible way, OLCO Petroleum Group Inc. offers a number of useful resources. Specialists can guide and counsel dealers, who can also access practical management tools. OLCO also provides administrative support in many different areas: marketing, human resources, safety, purchasing and business management. Dealers are part of a network and of a team. The strength and the competitive advantage of the OLCO dealers are to a great extent built on its members' collective knowledge and on their enthusiasm to share it.
