9 Points to remember It is important that the membership of any Health and Social Care team – clearly understand their responsibilities in safeguarding children and young people and are able to recognise and take effective action where there might be a need for protection.

16 The purpose of the SBNI is to coordinate and ensure the effectiveness of what is done by each person or body represented on the Board for the purposes of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
