Year 9 OCR Entry Level Computing

 On Microsoft word, write out the steps you take to get to school of a morning….  The first one will be “Wake Up” 5 minutes

O Objectives  Recognise the importance of sequencing in programming  Recognise how we can relate real life situations to sequences O Outcomes  LO1 Recall the steps taken to complete a specific task  LO2 Organise the steps into a recognised flowchart form

5 minutes

1. Wake up 2. Get out of bed 3. Make the bed 4. Make a coffee 5. Have a shower 6. Drink the coffee 7. Brush my teeth 8. Get Dressed 9. Feed The dogs 10. Make the dog Dinners for Tea 11. Check I have everything I need 12. Lock the Door 13. Get in my car 14. Start my car 15. Drive to School

 When you create a flowchart there are certain rules you must follow.  Each step has a certain Shape (You will be using these in Microsoft Visio)

 This shape goes at the start or end of the Sequence  This shows that the sequence is either starting or finishing Start/End

 This shape specifies a process e.g. Wake up Process

 This shape is used to determine a decision (Yes/No) this could be used to check if the shower is on…. “Is the shower on?” Is the shower on? YesNo

 This shape is used to determine indicate a data input or output. For example ”

 Go to….www.lucidchart.com  Play around with the interface and familiarise yourself with the shapes and how they connect!  Complete your flowchart of going to school!
