Designed as a research- based guide for LEAs to engage key stakeholders in the development of a strategic plan to ensure CTE offerings/activities are aligned with business/ industry and post- secondary education.

Developing Pathways to Ensure College and Career Readiness A high school graduate that has the knowledge and skills necessary to qualify for and succeed in entry-level, credit-bearing, post-secondary coursework without the need for remediation. A student that effectively navigates pathways that connect education and employment to achieve a fulfilling, financially-secure and successful career.

Determine Target Industry (pg. 8) Asset Mapping results should be documented and utilized to determine the target industry. The strategic planning process will focus solely on the targeted industry.

Planning the Meetings (pg. 13) Four, 90 minute lunch meetings suggested: Meeting 1 -Purpose and Objective (provide foundational information from Asset Mapping) Meeting 2 -Committee work (predetermined committee members and chairperson) Meeting 3 -Committee work completed Meeting 4 -Complete strategic plan provided to the group with discussion. The process works to ensure the CTE program (defined by industry target) and activities align with the needs of business/industry and post-secondary education.
