3 www.nau.edu/eeop Internships A structured program where a person gains supervised practical experience in an occupation A supervised apprenticeship or temporary job in a real-world setting related to a student's field of study. An experience that allows the student to apply what has been learned to a professional situation within a close mentoring relationship. The mentor evaluates student performance and provides feedback.
