1 FHSA The FHSA requires precautionary labeling on the immediate container of hazardous household products. The Act also allows the Consumer Product Safety Commission to ban certain products that are so dangerous or the nature of the hazard is such that the labeling the act requires is not adequate to protect consumers.

2 Lead-based paint poisoning Act  The LBPPA primarily addressed lead-based paint in federally- funded housing and established definitions for lead-based paint and lead poisoning.

3 HAZMAT  primary objective is to provide adequate protection against the risks to life and property inherent in the transportation of hazardous material in commerce by improving the regulatory and enforcement authority of the Secretary of Transportation

4 Toxic substances control act  provides EPA with authority to require reporting, record- keeping and testing requirements, and restrictions relating to chemical substances and/or mixtures. Certain substances are generally excluded from TSCA, including, among others, food, drugs, cosmetics and pesticides.  TSCA addresses the production, importation, use, and disposal of specific chemicals including polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), asbestos, radon and lead-based paint.polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)asbestoslead-based paint

5 CERCLA or Superfund Act  This law created a tax on the chemical and petroleum industries and provided broad Federal authority to respond directly to releases or threatened releases of hazardous substances that may endanger public health or the environment. Over five years, $1.6 billion was collected and the tax went to a trust fund for cleaning up abandoned or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites.

6 Stockholm convention on persistent organic pollutants(POPS)  a legally binding international agreement to protect human health and the environment from some of the most dangerous chemicals on earth.
