19 What do funders require? Open Access to research results as a condition of funding Deposit in a particular repository and/or Deposit in the institutional repository and/or Publication in an Open Access Journal

20 Impact for institutions Response necessary as a requirement of grant Competitive advantage for compliance Strategic alignment with global changes Requires different service divisions to work together Incentive for more closely integrated knowledge management

21 How to respond Who is currently aware of these requirements? What current structures and processes are in place? What level of compliance is currently attained?

22 Integration Into workflows Institutional systems must share data Owners of these systems must collaborate Policies must have be aligned with institutional strategy, have purpose, support and consequences Authors must be given services that support their needs and fit within their existing work-flows are far as possible

23 What do we need to do? Compliance and support are complimentary Collaborate on support given to authors Integrate with funders requirements Create systems for monitoring compliance Establish major senior support for mandate The system to provide consistent, authoritative information from all stakeholders at point of need Use infrastructure of repositories to benefit authors, researchers, institutions and funders
