A Brief History  Digitization Project began in 2011 Faced difficulties with the initial company responsible for material scanning Scanning was done inconsistently, so PDFs needed to be separated, checked for errors, and many needed to be re-scanned  Queen’s Printer is now scanning additional materials at no cost

4. Hansards  Currently online back to 1980  1970s will be available by the end of 2014  1960s must be re-transcribed, as they were not originally published Hansard staff currently working on this project  1949-1959 will be available as soon as 1960s are complete

5. Journals  Informal partnership with Memorial University’s Centre for Newfoundland Studies to complete the digitization of historic Journals MUN “responsible” for 1868-1899  We have digitized 1900-1930 Not yet available to the public  Still to complete: 1833-1868 1931-1933 1949-2008

6. Tips for the Penny-wise  Utilize in-house resources Queen’s Printer Staff and summer students  Partner with other organizations  Allow ample timeframes for every step of the process
