6 Lungs  One on each side of the chest One left lung One right lung  Take in oxygen and removes carbon dioxide  Place where air exchange happens  Exchanges gasses (oxygen and carbon dioxide) in blood

7 Kidneys  One on each side of the body toward the back  Main job is to filter the blood Phosphorus Sodium/Salt  Also help maintain body’s fluid balance Excess salt causes kidneys to hold onto extra fluid  Turns liquid waste into urine

8 Liver · A large organ that has 3 lobes or sections ·Helps store and filter the blood ·Makes bile and helps digest fatty foods

9 Pancreas  Located behind the stomach  Helps the body use sugar by making insulin  Helps digest food

10 Small Intestine  Runs from the end of the stomach to start of large intestine  Completes food digestion  Works to absorb nutrients from food
