Engaging with Horizon 2020 99% of all European business are small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) 85% of net new jobs in the EU between 2002 and 2010 were created by SMEs SMEs are quick to adapt to and exploit new market opportunities Taking innovative ideas to the market AIM: 20% of the total budget for Pillar 2 and Pillar 3 will go to SMEs. SMES help to increase the economic impact of project results by a company-centric and market-driven approach. Benefit for SMEs: aim of strengthening the innovation capacity of SMEs and creating value on the market and/or into society. Why is SME involvement important?
