GOLF TOURNAMENT REPORT The 3 rd Annual Golf Tournament will be held December 5 th at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. Volunteers should be at JGCC no later than 10:30am. Registration will start at 10 AM and the Tee off time is 11 AM. Please coordinate all volunteers through John Bates. We have 12 Foursomes booked for the Golf Tournament, and hope to beat our minimum of 15. We have 33 hole sponsors and $3,000 from 4 major sponsors. We still need more gift certificates for raffle drawings. We have Keith Watson with Watson Osborne as a principal sponsor. He is providing an additional $500 gift to be used to sell separate tickets to win a 'closest to the hole‘ on par 3, hole #6, which will add one more fun event. Additional sponsors include Stewart Title, Dr. Daniel Schelhause and Oceanside Bank. The tie-in with The Boys and Girls Club is proving to be a big plus. The First Tee with Calvin Peete and his wife Pepper might just be the frosting on the cake. Nov. 17 th Speaker Nov. 17 th Speaker George E. People started putting dimples on golf balls over 100 years ago after noticing that the scratched ones tended to travel further. The dimples usually number between 330 and 500 but why do we need them? Why are there dimples on golf balls?
