3 What are the consequences of not eating healthy? Obesity is a major consequence of not eating healthy. According to the Center for the Diseases Control and Prevention 35.7 % of adults 17 % of children

Observations: There are around 26 fast food restaurants in Bushwick A variety of individuals visit this restaurant on a regular basis Individuals consume excess calories in just one order Type of foods people order: Big Mac contains 530 calories Stake, Egg & Cheese Bagel contains 670 calories Strawberry McCafe Shake which has 550 calories

7 INTERVIEWS AND DISCUSSIONS Interaction with People Why do they choose this place to eat? They have a busy schedule The lack of healthy food markets

8 Improper Nutrition Increases patients’ admissions to hospitals Rises medical bills Increases out pocket expenses It causes business expenses to grow It will cause inflation of future medical costs (CDC) estimates that if Americans eat healthy, we could save $77 billion in medical costs And its negative impacts on the economy

9 Food transportation: trucks, ships, planes The distance to which food travels from where it is grown to where it is purchased is the reason of increasing pollution Water consumption: It can take as much as 3,682 liters of water to produce 2.2 lbs of boneless beef in the U.S. paper consumption: Contributes to deforestation Litter waste: The amount of package, wrapping, napkins accounts for 20% of litter waste Environmental Impacts of Fast Food Industries
