MY READING My reading has improved dramatically. Partly because I am reading bigger and more advanced books. From last year with,“What If?” to, “Angels and Demons” and, “The Da Vinci Code” which are shorter, but are not 100 page sections about if one thing happened differently, as with What If? Also, the books are more complicated and use stronger and longer words. Lastly, I have read a little bit more than last year.

I have liked this year more than last year, SO FAR. One reason I liked it more is I have read better books than last year. Then again, this year’s sticky notes program has been the worst idea ever. Lastly, this years papers and assignments have been more fun, as in our I Wonder and the fictional paper we had to write. This year was a lot better.

I have a few goals for the rest of the year. One is to maintain an A in language arts. Also, to do sticky notes on at least some of my books I read. My third goal is to read bigger books than I have so far. I think these goals are sufficient for my skill level.

Angels and Demons Robert Langdon is awoken in the middle of the night by the French version of the FBI while he is in Paris. They have called him to investigate Jacques Sauneir’s sudden and random murder. Before Jacques bled to death, he wrote down seemingly random lines and numbers. But, he also wrote down a line that the chief of French FBI took a picture of it then erased the line. The line said, “P.S. Find Robert Langdon.” Because of that, they think he was the murderer. He has to go on an adventurous journey to find the Holy Grail with Sophie Nevue, granddaughter of Jacques, while evading the police. (2 nd book in the Robert Langdon series) I like this book since 1. Mystery 2. Police trying to kill people 3. Acts like these new things are true and if they are true they would shake the church to it’s core 4. Cool characters 5. Great plot line

Angels and Demons Before the Da Vinci Code, there was Angels and Demons. Robert Langdon is suddenly called in the middle of the night to a scientific research lab in Switzerland. CERN, the lab, has one of it’s highest members killed gruesomely, he was killed and then his eye was ripped to get access to his lab. In his lab is a drop of anti- matter. Anti-matter destroys matter when they come into contact. That drop is equal to enough TNT to wipe out the Vatican City, and worse, the Pope was just murdered and Conclave is set to begin. Can Robert Langdon solve the mystery before millions of innocent praying people are killed (1 st book in the Robert Langdon series) Why I like this book 1. Same people as the Da Vinci Code 2. SUSPENSFUL 3. Heart POUNDER 4. Good plot line 5. Great idea for a book

What If? What is Hitler won World War 2 What if the USA dropped Atomic bombs on Berlin and the rest of Eastern Germany What if the Japanese invade Hawaii during World War 2 All these questions and many more are answered in WHAT IF? Why I like this book 1. Really makes you think 2. Mind blowing 3. Descriptive

Legend In the near future, America has broken up into 2 warring nations. The Republic, where this story takes place, and the Colonies. They have broken out into war. Day, the Republic’s most wanted criminal, is framed for the murder of the brother of June, the Republic’s most prized prodigy (nice names). June goes on a manhunt for Day. In a book that gets you rooting the supposed bad guy, who will come out alive?????? Why I like this 1. Descriptive 2. Good plot line 3. Future America 4. Good vocab

Unwind In a world where a troublemaker can be unwound. Unwinding is when all of your body parts are removed, but kept alive, so you don’t actually die, but are divided. Connor, is a troublemaker who makes too much trouble to be kept alive. Risa is a ward of the state, who is being unwound because of budget cuts. Lev is a tithe who’s whole life has been leading up to being unwound. Together, they try to run and escape the police and try to find a safe haven. Why I like this 1. Mind blowing 2. Makes you think 3. Great idea 4. Good plot
