We recommend that NSIDC develop future workshops, maybe with differing themes, and partnered with other DAACs”

PoDAG XXIV Marilyn Kaminski, MODIS Product Team Lead November 4, 2005 5 Early Thoughts on Logistics Location: Boulder  More central location should increase participation by West Coast residents  Hotel or university space  Hosting locally simplifies organization significantly Time: Fall 2006  Football schedule may impact hotel/facility availability  Sept/Oct date avoids conflicts with holidays and AGU, and increases likelihood of good weather Duration: 2 days  Mid-week timing minimizes problems with football schedule Cost  Charging a fee for attendees would enable us to provide coffee/snacks/lunch with minimal mid-day disruption  Without a fee we would need to seek a contribution from NASA or similar source for coffee/snacks Attendance  Approx 100 people is maximum for getting good interaction  A cap on attendance would prevent facility overflow
