1. The Respiratory System The process of breathing in is called inhalation or inspiration. The process of breathing out is called exhalation or expiration.

3. Respiratory Problems Asthma is a condition where the bronchial tubes in the lungs narrow causing wheezing and the feeling of not taking in enough air. Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchial tubes. Emphysema is when the alveoli stiffen, and enlarge making it difficult to get rid of old air and take in fresh air.

4. Cellular Respiration The process in which cells use oxygen to release energy stored in sugar molecules. During this process carbon dioxide and water are made. These products are then carried by the blood back to the lungs to be exhaled.

5. The respiratory system is a group of organs whose main function is to take in oxygen and expel(get rid of ) carbon dioxide. It works with the cardiovascular system to deliver oxygen to the body’s cells
