3 MetroAccess Eligibility MetroAccess eligibility is based on ones’ functionality to use the accessible bus and rail systems 2

4 MetroAccess Eligibility - Paratransit is a complementary public transportation for people with disabilities when: 1.They cannot use the accessible fixed route system independently 2.Accessible bus and train service is unavailable. 3.The environment prevents access to accessible fixed route service - Service are ¾ mile from a Metrobus stop or Metrorail station 3

5 MetroAccess Eligibility Process Completion of Application Functional Assessment – Various components which may include use of bus and rail system – Accomplished by certified therapeutic recreational specialists Interview 4

6 Types of MetroAccess Eligibility Process Temporary Eligibility – 1 year or less Fully Eligible – unable to use the accessible bus and rail – 5 year duration Conditional Eligibility – Need paratransit as safety net – 3 year duration Ineligible – Can use accessible bus and rail for all trips 5

7 Reduced Fare Program Program for people with disabilities who can independently ride accessible bus and rail. Requirements – Completion of Reduced Fare Program for People with Disabilities – Veterans’ Disability Letter verifying disability rating of 60% or more – Medicare Card (under 65 years of age) – No assessment required Duration – 5 Years – Renewable with completion of new application 6

8 Reduced Fare Program Reduced fare program ID is now printed on a SmarTrip® PCA SmarTrip® is linked to customer’s ID card 7
