5 + Level 0 – Non-Use Technology unavailable or unused in the classroom Text based: Overhead projector Dry Erase Board Teacher perceived “lack of time” for use of technology

6 + Level 1 -- Awareness Classroom management Email, word processing, grade book/attendance Embellish teacher-directed lessons or lectures PowerPoint presentation by teacher One step removed from classroom/teacher Integrated Learning Systems (ILS) Success Maker, Plato, Study Island Technology as “reward” after work complete

7 + Level 2 -- Exploration Blooms--knowledge, comprehension, application Supplements the existing curriculum Student created: PowerPoint—informational Internet “research and report” Informational web pages Employed as Extension, enrichment, reinforcement activities May not complement instruction
