1 Moreton Community School Miss Stanislawska Working with Languages Day Year 9

2 Languages at Moreton We currently offer French at KS3,4 as well as KS5 and we are going to introduce Entry Level Spanish and German courses from next year. Picture designed by our Year 7 student Alisha Khan

3 Languages at Moreton This year we have participated in various languages events organised by the University of Wolverhampton. * Working with Languages Day in February * Japanese and Martial Arts Event in May * Going Places with Languages in Europe in June

4 Languages at Moreton Students from year 7,8,9,10,11 also went to see the the Oscar winning French film ‘Amour’ (by Michael Henke, 2012) at the Lighthouse Media Centre in Wolverhampton and have experienced having to watch a film in French with subtitles in English.

5 Languages at Moreton Working with Languages Day Year 9 students have been invited to this fantastic event organised by the University of Wolverhampton and have enjoyed listening to two foreign speakers talking about the benefits of learning languages as well as designing their own product in French and presenting it to other students.

6 Languages at Moreton Working with Languages Day Year 9 researching information to create their unique products.

7 Languages at Moreton Japanese and Martial Arts Event University of Wolverhampton - Walsall Campus Students with their certificates after a brilliant day!

8 Languages at Moreton Japanese and Martial Arts Event Year 7 and 8 students learned basic Judo moves and by the end of the day they knew several moves and commands in Japanese!

11 Students have learned basic Japanese phrases and got an opportunity to write their names in Japanese as well as learn some origami techniques. Our names Left: Natalia Right: Alisha in Japanese

13 Every week on Wednesday Year 7 students participate in Spanish Club to learn another language. Students play interactive games and learn basic Spanish expressions each week. By Alisha Khan
