1. Male Genital Tract, Case 2 67-year-old male has nocturia, urinary hesitancy, “weak” urine stream, and dribbling at the end of urination. On digital rectal exam the prostate gland is enlarged and non-tender. There are no palpable masses.

6. Describe the high power histologic findings The microscopic section of the prostate gland reveals a gland in which the hyperplastic epithelium forms folds (arrow) which extend into the lumen.

8. Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia The autopsy specimen consists of the urinary bladder and attached prostate. The bladder is opened longitudinally along the anterior midline through the prostatic urethra. Note the distinct bands or trabeculations in the posterior wall of the bladder.
