DuBois (1868-1963) Civil Rights leader Author/Editor Sociologist In The Souls of Black Folk, one of his most famous works, DuBois introduced to concepts that describe the quintessential of being Black in America: “the veil” and “double-consciousness” (Virginia.edu).
