2. GEOGRAPHY Italy is a very good located place. It is wide and km long. Its population is 60.6 million, and that’s why it is one of the most populous places in Europe! The official language is Italian.

4. EDUCATION Students in Italy must attend school from the age of 6 until they are 15.Compalsory education is 9 years. Free Education includes: Primary School lasts 5 years. At primary school children learn to read and write and study mathematics, geography, Italian, English, science, music, computer studies, religion (optional) and social studies. Classes have between 10 and 25 students. Lower Secondary School lasts 3 years. Students are required to attend 30 hours of classes per week. Every term, each student receives a teacher's report outlining their aptitude, behaviour and achievement. Upper Secondary School is optional and lasts 3 or 5 years. There are two categories of upper secondary school: the liceo (like a British grammar school), which is more academic in nature, and an istituto, which is essentially a vocational school. There are various High Schools.

5. THE ARTS Italy is a cultural country. Rome is a city with an unparalleled history and a magnificent cultural diversity. Rome has museums, theatres, landscapes and cultural events throughout the year. Florence has museums, cultural and archeological associations and world renowned fashion houses.

6. SPORT Italy is a main basketball nation in Europe. Both young and old people play basketball, football, volleyball, rugby, cricket, cycling, tennis, golf, athletics, water sports etc.
