4  Hi my name is Courtney.  I am 8.  I am moving from Australia and I am moving to Japan.  I am moving because my mum and dad want to learn about Japanese language.  I want to know the art work. 

5  Kimonos are worn for special events.  Sometimes the patterns are symbols of nature.

6  Students in Japan practise calligraphy.  Students take turns to serve lunches at school.  Parents visit the school.  Students have lunch in the class room before they go out to play.

7  The children celebrate the 7 5 3 festival.  Traditions are weddings, funerals and Children’s Day.

8 Japanese people ride on bullet trains. bullet trains are fast really fast. Some Japanese people ride ferries. Ferries are a big, big boat.

9 Children's Day is celebrated on May the 5 th. Children wear origami samurai hats.

10  The weather can be cold or hot. Sometimes it could be snowy.  It could be rainy.

11  Japanese people eat a large variety of food.  They eat sushi, rice, fish and vegetables.  Take-away food is available in the cities.  All types of food can be bought.
