2 What were the three seasons in Egypt? Flooding season: Built great pyramids and temples when there crops were being flooded Planting season: Softened soil with plow pulled by ox, and someone scattered seeds behind them Harvest season: Men cut down plants with sickles, and women and children gathered it.

3 What role did music play in the work of the peasants? Music made time go faster. Peasants and musicians played and sang music together in the fields. Youtube video

4 What were possible punishments or rewards for peasants during harvest time? If the harvest went well they were allowed to gather left over grain and keep it for themselves. If the harvest went bad, they were brutally beaten

5 What was a typical diet of peasants in ancient Egypt? A peasant relied on food that included:.onions.cucumbers.fish.bread.water.beer.peas.lentils In times of famine, they had to boil hard papyrus plants for food

6 What other important information should kids know about peasants Peasants were not slaves, they had lives of there own and they got paid Egyptian society depended on their work Peasants made up the largest and lowest class in Egypt’s social pyramid If a farmer had a son, it wasn’t very likely for that son to grow up and move up a social class
