4 Proposal O We will be taking the 50 second grade students from Forest Park I.E. School to the Sci-Tech Hands on Museum in Aurora, Illinois on Wednesday, April 25, 2012. O The students will be allowed to explore the 200+ science exhibits before the hour long Dinosaur program that they will be taking part in.

6 Cost Calculations O Transportation: O 4.5hours X $36.48= $164.16 ($165) O 27 miles there + 26 miles back=53 miles O 53miles X $.96 = $50.88 ($51.00) O $165 + $51 = $216 for bus O Entry Fee: O 50 students X $8.00 = $400.00 O 6 chaperones and 2 teachers = $16.00 O $400.00 + $16.00 = $416.00 O Total: $416.00 + $216.00 = $632.00 O Cost per Student: $12. 64 = $14.00

7 Itinerary O 8:00a.m – School begins O 8:15a.m – Fill out a KWL Chart with the students about dinosaurs O 8:30a.m – Share a dinosaur story & pass out the packets O 8:45a.m – Line up for the bus according to groups O 9:00a.m. – Board the bus and depart the school O 9:50a.m. – Arrive at Sci-Tech Hands on Museum O 10:00a.m. – Enter the museum O 10:00-11:00a.m. – Group A will do the Demonstration and Lab Session Group B will explore the Exhibits O 11:00-12:00p.m. – Group A will explore the Exhibits Group B will do the Demonstration and Lab Session O 12:00-12:30p.m. – Lunch O 12:30-12:45p.m. – More exploring O 12:45p.m. – Begin loading the busses and depart the Sci-Tech Museum O 1:30p.m. – Arrive back at Forest Park I.E. School O 1:40p.m. – Follow-up activity O 2:10p.m. – School dismissal

17 Follow-up Activities O Fill out the “L” section of the KWL Chart O Have the student draw a picture of their favorite exhibit on white construction paper. O Explain in four sentences on the back of their picture what they learned from the exhibit O The pictures will be displayed in the hallway
