2 Philosophy The K-1 st class-space has been modeled to provide a safe and imaginative room for the children to grow and enjoy God, each other and the creative process. The room has been divided into five different centers, each space providing a different set of tools for play, education and worship.

13 Further Elements of Project God’s Story, the Children’s Stories, My Story Advice –Class Structure, Preparation Recommended Reading –Godly Play (Berryman)*, Calvin and Hobbes (Watterson), The Spiritual Life of Children (Coles), The Religious Potential of the Child (Cavaletti), Young Children and Worship (Stewart and Berryman) Leading Volunteers –Blog, Leadership Development The Transition * Jerome Berryman’s Godly Play has influenced most of this project in major ways. It would be wrong not to acknowledge his dominant influence in the development of the philosophy and structure of the K-1 st Classroom at CCCO.
