7 Other lessons… It’s not just about electricity – especially in the long term … but think about business opportunities created by powering communities! Small local companies can be challenging partners …but they have the virtue of being there Supportive policy & regulatory environment helps … but so what? A great opportunity to expand the role of private capital ….but grants/soft money will maintain a big role, & sometimes get in the way Establishing the right relationship is tricky – It’ll take longer than you think, – aligning long term expectations – Knowledge will flow in both directions 6
