SS/HS 1999-2012 Local level leadership through Core Management Team (CMT) Funds went to local school district Focused on systems change and direct services provision Collaboration with key partners at the local level Administered through the U.S. Department of Education as a grant. SS/HS 2013 State/tribe & local level leadership Funds go to State Education or Mental Health Agency State will select three local education agencies within three communities. Focus on infrastructure development, systems change and local level direct services provision Administered through SAMHSA as a cooperative agreement.

4. Now Is The Time Project AWARE: $40 million to help school districts work with law enforcement, mental health agencies, and other local organizations to assure students with mental health issues or other behavioral issues are referred to the services they need. $15 million for training for teachers and other adults who interact with youth to detect and respond to mental illness in children and young adults; including how to encourage adolescents and families to seek treatment.
