2 Definition A verb, like a noun or pronoun, can be singular or plural. You need to put the right verb with the right subject. This is called SUBJECT- VERB AGREEMENT. Wrong: Ludwig’s earlobes is long. Right: Ludwig’s earlobes are long.

3 Example The elephant trumpets for a peanut. The elephants trumpet for a peanut. elephant = singular subject trumpets = singular verb elephants = plural subject trumpets = plural verb
