“To an engineer, good enough means perfect. With an artist there’s no such thing as perfect.”
Talented artist at a young age Went to school and graduated with an engineering degree Had various jobs before he went back to school for art, New York – Art Students League in 1923. Took an illustrating job for National Police Gazette where he had to sketch scenes from the Barnum and Bailey Circus. The circus scene inspired his own circus creations. Influenced by Mondrian simplistic paintings and Duchamp’s sculptures

1.) The artist created a base for the mobile project and did a nice job finishing this piece with acrylic paint or glaze. 2.) The final mobile is well balanced and visually interesting (ex. shape, size, color, design, etc.) 3.) The artist used a min. of 3 arms / branches, shapes that dangle from each point, and at least one shape that is cut from the inside of another shape. 4.) The artist used needle nose pliers to create S- hooks and arms / branches with a round circle on each end and a loop in the center.
5.) The artist was prepared for class and use time effectively and efficiently spending 90% of the class time on task working on the specific task. The artist worked cooperatively, collaboratively throughout the entire class period respecting others space, projects, as well as the rest of the classroom. Artwork submitted for a grade will be appropriate to a k-12 class setting in nature and will be that solely of the student who created it. 6.) Overall Good Craftsmanship was evident as this piece was well-put together, pieces were cleanly cut without any pieces falling off. 7.) The artist was able to critique his or her own learning on his or her blog.
