2 What is Fidelity for CDSME? Objectives for Washington State Fidelity Plan: 1. Provide guidance and tools to organizations offering CDSME to assist in delivering a quality program for participants. 2. Provide guidance to assist in allocating personnel and resources for fidelity. 3. Provide tools for choosing and training leaders and Master Trainers.

3 CDSME “Requirements” The program is standardized and MUST be led as written in the Leaders Manual. This means: Two trained leaders Follow the script No “guest” speakers or added material 2.5 hours once a week for 6 weeks Organizations offering CDSME must have a current Stanford license for the program(s).

15 So where does QI come in? Put each of the recommended Fidelity steps in place Create a system for assuring that the Fidelity steps are done Keep records! Periodically review the results of each Fidelity checkpoint and take action on adverse findings

Fidelity Steps in a nutshell: 1.Choose Leader and Master Trainer candidates thoughtfully 2.Support their training by coaching/mentoring via observations of the training and during their first workshop(s) 3.Get feedback from participants (and use it!) 4.Encourage self/peer evaluation
