2 Goal—To improve mobility for seniors and individuals with disabilities by removing barriers to transportation services and expanding transportation mobility options. Increased mobility to: – Employment – Medical appointments – Grocery shopping – Educational opportunities Grant covers 80% of the capital cost Applicants must be listed in the Coordinated Plan

3 Traditional Section 5310 Projects Designated Recipients may allocate apportioned funds to: 1.A private nonprofit organization 2.State or local governmental authority that: 1.Is approved by a state to coordinate services for seniors and individuals with disabilities; or 2.Certifies that there are no nonprofit organizations readily available in the area to provide the service. Essentially maintain status quo for traditional Section 5310 projects

Total cost and federal/local breakdown should be shown in Attachment H. Section 5310 funding covers 80% cost of preventive maintenance

21 Funding—Under MAP 21, apportionments provided to large and small urbanized areas and rural areas. Funding Amount for Cincinnati Urbanized Area: – Funding awarded this year (FY 2013 funds) $1,422,514 – FY 2014 Funds Available for Projects*$1,022,558 – FY 2015 Funds Available for Projects*$1,005,499 – Total Available$2,028,057 * net 10% reduction each fiscal year for administration and FY 2013 overage. FY 2015 represents 10/12 funding.

23 SORTA Requirements for sub-recipients Signed sub-recipient agreement Local match to SORTA before order can be placed through the State Contract Upon delivery, a lien will be placed on each vehicle until the vehicle reaches its useful life Sub-recipient needs to send SORTA a completed vehicle checklist upon vehicle delivery

24 SORTA Requirements for sub-recipients (continued) Monthly/quarterly reports to SORTA on vehicle activity such as: – Preventive Maintenance – Miles driven for each month – Problems with the vehicle Periodic site visits by SORTA staff to check the assets Must obtain prior approval from SORTA to dispose of vehicle
