3 Article (a)  The article ( a ) is an indefinite article. Examples: 1. Sarah has a horse. 2. George works in a store. 3. They bought a house. It is used you refer to a specific or particular member of the group. Articles particularize nouns.

7 Rule 1 The article (a) is used before a singular noun that begins with a consonant or a word that begins with “h” where the “h” is sounding. 9 Rule 3  Use (a/an) to define or classify a place, person or thing. Example: 1.A cat is a pet. 2. A tree is a plant. 3. An apple is a fruit.
