10 JIRA Projects What makes up a Project? People working towards a common outcome: i.e. A software product or a marketing project A unique Project Key is created: External Website (Project Key = EXWEB) Human Resources (Project Key = HR) This unique key is used to identify all issues A Project Lead, manages the project 10

11 What’s a Watcher Teams can receive many emails based on a Notification Scheme A Watcher is someone who signed up to received Notifications based on the Notification Scheme This allows users to “opt in” to project Notifications 11

12 Components Components are project-specific categories “Tag” an issue with a Component Configure Version name, description, and Assignee 12

17 Workflow Purpose An effective workflow helps teams be more productive Streamline process, status tracking, accountability, scalable Flexibility allows workflows to be used across a variety of teams and purposes Software development – Bug tracking Operations – Help desk Marketing – Managing ad campaign HR – Resume tracking Project Management 17

18 A status represents where the issue currently is in the workflow Statuses color reflects the workflow phase Blue State = New Yellow State = In Progress Green State = Complete 18 Status Workflow Status
