7. www.unido.org UNIDO International Centre for Hydrogen Energy Technologies (ICHET) ICHET founded in 2003 in Istanbul by UNIDO and sponsored by the Turkish Government (40 mln US Dollars) Purpose: To promote hydrogen technologies and facilitate their widespread use and application in the developing countries and countries in transition through pilot and demonstration projects Participate in R&D programmes; maintaining a comprehensive hydrogen energy database; Organization of conferences and workshops; Serving as a bridge between the activities of industrialized and developing countries.

10. www.unido.org Cleaner and sustainable production programme The cleaner production approach is a preventive, integrated strategy to Increase productivity in companies by ensuring a more efficient use of raw materials, energy and water. It promotes a better environmental performance through reduction at source of waste and emissions and it reduces the environmental impact of products throughout their life cycle by the design of environmentally friendly but cost- effective products. The net effect is to give enterprises in developing and transition countries a more competitive edge, thereby facilitating their access to international markets.
