2 AIMS AND SCOPE AIM: To provide a forum to identify issues and priorities for research and to map research policies arising from the differing cultures in IFIP Member countries. SCOPE  Identification of research needs and topics in the field of education  Improvement of research approaches and methods  Production of synthesis of research on major topics in the field  Dissemination of research, in partnership with educational research

11 Format of Budapest seminar  21 researchers from 14 countries with an online participation of six more members from Austria, Germany and Switzerland  Papers submitted beforehand – two reviewers per paper  Open discussion audio taped  Version 2 being edited  Future working meetings to be organised – Beijing 2008?

12 Future projects – AGM, Budapest, 5 July Increase membership in Europe and Africa – establish global focus Focus: taking learning technology beyond the 'event' model, incorporating mobile, performance support, informal 2008, TC3.3 event: attached to a UNESCO event seeking contacts with its ICT Divisions that support research on ICT and education and try to get into the next Participation Programme – UNESCO’s supported projects list.
