Advanced Information Technolgies often arises by Space and Military research, due to the conversation process some of the technologies are available for civil projects including those in the Cultural Heritage field. Imaging and display technologies are representitive examples. Content Based Retrieval (CBR) even for data bases containing mainly non-alphanumeric information (images, movies, sound etc.). Such data bases are typically found in museums, galleries etc.
